Information regarding our Holiday Home in Mijas

Below you’ll find various details to help make your arrival and stay a bit easier. Feel free to share this link with the other guests.

The address of the house is:
Avenida Aguila Coronada 55 – 29659 Mijas (Click on the street name to open Google Maps)

You’re at the right place when you see the following and the blue sign showing house number 55 ☺️

Keys and Gate Remote
To the left of the gate, you’ll find a key box containing the remote control for the gate (you’ll receive the code separately). Enter the code and press both side buttons on the box simultaneously to open it.
Please leave the remote in the box when not in use, as the pool maintenance man also needs access if you’re not home when he comes to clean the pool.

At the front door, you’ll also find a key box containing the house key. Since there aren’t enough keys for all guests, we recommend leaving the key in the box here as well.

Always remember to scramble the code numbers after use so no one else can see the combination.

The Entrance gate
You’ll need the remote to both enter and exit the property. When driving in or out, be careful not to hit the small motor for the gate. When exiting, we recommend waiting to open the gate until you’re halfway or fully down the driveway — and only reverse once the gate is fully open.

Swimming Pool Cleaning
The pool is cleaned every Tuesday and Friday. The pool man will ring the door bell, and if no one answers, he’ll let himself in.

Swimming Pool (Important)
It’s very important to rinse off sunscreen before using the pool. Especially in high season, when temperatures are high, the pool filters can’t handle the oils and creams. If sunscreen or oil gets in the water, the pool becomes cloudy, and the only solution is to shut it down for 24 hours and treat it with special chemicals. This costs €150.

Water Level in the Pool
For the pump to clean the water properly, the water level should cover the top step of the stairs by about 3–5 cm (no more, or it may overflow at the other end).

To avoid overfilling, consider setting an alarm on your phone. Unfortunately, we’ve had guests forget to turn off the water, resulting in it running all night and overflowing down the street.

Electricity Meter Reading
Shortly before your arrival and right after departure, we’ll send you a photo of the electricity meter reading.

Power Outage
Below is a video explaining what to do if the power goes out:

Cupboards
Some of the cupboards in the kitchen and bedrooms are locked for private use. They are locked from the inside, so it’s not because they’re stuck. It’s a good idea to inform all guests about this, so they don’t accidentally damage them.

Terrace Lighting and Pool Lights
Below is a video showing where to turn on the outdoor lights:

Parasol
Please tie the cord around the parasol in the evening and upon departure, as it may get damaged if the wind picks up. If the cord goes missing during your stay, please let us know so we can replace it.

Wi-Fi and Sonos Speakers
Wi-Fi name: CasaMartil
Password: Bifrost2020

There are three Sonos speakers available, which you can connect to as soon as you’re on the Wi-Fi network.

Barbecue
If you’re running low on gas, please let us know and we’ll make sure it gets replaced. Before leaving the house, please clean the grill and put the cover back on so it’s ready for the next guests.

Damages in the House
Upon arrival, we kindly ask you to look around the house and send us pictures if you notice anything that doesn’t seem right.

Fire Hazard
Due to high fire risk, all use of open flames is strictly prohibited. If you smoke, please do so on the terraces and make sure to extinguish cigarettes properly in the ashtray. The house is located right next to open countryside, and even a small spark can easily start a wildfire.

Glass and Bottles by the Pool and Terrace
We recommend using plastic cups instead of real glass or bottles by the pool and on the terrace. We’ve unfortunately had guests injure themselves badly due to broken glass, and if shards aren’t thoroughly removed, it can also pose a risk to future guests.

Shopping
The Miramar shopping center is just 8 minutes from the house. It has a variety of stores, including a large Carrefour supermarket. Just 3 minutes further you’ll find a Lidl.

Restaurants, Beach and Promenade
All of this is just 10 minutes from the house. You can shop at Miramar, Lidl, Aldi or Mercadona.
If you’re heading to the beach promenade, you can either park directly by the beach or in the underground car park at the Church Square – La Plaza de la Constitución, Fuengirola.
In the welcome binder at the house, you’ll find a list of recommended restaurants, shopping centers, excursions and more.

Our Dream Home
The house you’re staying in is our dream home, which we’ve fully renovated ourselves. We’ve made many great memories here, and we still live in it when it’s not rented out.
We hope you’ll take good care of it – and if any damage occurs, please let us know (instead of us hearing about it from the cleaning team after your departure).

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out — otherwise, we just hope you have a truly wonderful holiday.

Best regards,
Stine and Michael
